By Bus: You have two options to get to Sagarmatha National Park by bus. Choose the best option for your comfort.

  1. From Kathmandu to Jiri:
  • Take a direct bus from Gongabu Bus Park, also known as New Bus Park, to Jiri. It takes around 6-8 hours to reach, and the destination is 180 km away from the bus park.
  • After reaching Jiri, you can trek for 7-9 days to reach Sagarmatha National Park.
  • and it takes about 10 days to 22 days to reach Everest Base Camp, depending on the itinerary.
  • The bus ticket price is between 500 and 700 Nepali rupees. The price depends on the bus company.
  • It is one of the most popular and economical options for you to travel by road.

      2. From Kathmandu to Salleri (Village):

  • Take a bus from Kathmandu bus park to Salleri and hike for 5 days to reach Sagarmatha National Park.
  • From Salleri, you can trek for 13 to 18 days to Everest Base Camp (EBC).
  • It is 267.9 km away from Kathmandu, and it takes around 10–11 hours to reach Salleri by bus.

  1. From Ramechhap (Manthali Airport): (Ramechhap Airport is approximately 132 kilometers away from Kathmandu by road, and it takes 4-5 hours to reach).
  • Take a flight from Manthali Airport to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla.
  • The flight distance is 73.4 kilometers from Manthali Airport to Lukla Airport.
  • The flight takes about 25 minutes to reach.
  • After reaching Lukla, you can hike to Sagarmatha National Park for 3-4 days.
  • From Lukla to Everest Base Camp, it takes 6-7 days to ascend and 4-5 days to descend. Totally, it takes about 10-12 days.

      2. From Kathmandu to Lukla:

  • Take a flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla, and trek for 10-12 days.
  • The flight distance is 138 kilometers from Kathmandu, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach Lukla.
  • Currently, there is no longer a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. All flights to Lukla from Kathmandu were diverted to Manthali Airport, Ramechhap.
